Raising Boys to Walk Worthy

Raising Boys to
Walk Worthy

The Foothill Valley Trailmen of Troop CA-8859 are more than a troop—we’re a community committed to shaping young men of character, strength, and faith. Our troop number is drawn from the 8,859-foot peak that rises above our valley, a summit we hike not just for the challenge—but for what it represents.

  • Faith – Rooted in Christ and Scripture
  • Adventure – Built through challenge and exploration
  • Brotherhood – Strengthened on the trail and in life

We lift our eyes to the hills, knowing our strength comes from the Lord, theMaker f the mountain and of the man who climbs it (Psalm 121:1-2).

Trail Life Program Overview

Trail Life USA
Program Overview

Whether building a fire, memorizing Scripture, or leading a patrol, every boy in Trail Life is on a journey toward godly manhood. Our program offers age-appropriate growth, hands-on adventure, and Christ-centered mentorship through structured patrols and outdoor experiences.

We currently serve boys in Kindergarten through 6th grade through the Woodlands Trail program, with plans to expand in future years. Boys are grouped into age-based patrols (Foxes, Hawks, and Mountain Lions) and participate in engaging activities like hikes, service projects, and skills training.

Our troop meets on the first and third Thursday of each month, September through June, at Community Church Rancho in Rancho Cucamonga—with additional special events like campouts, hikes, and service projects throughout the year.
